Meet Daryl Chiew
Piano Educator
Daryl Chiew received his formal musical training in Europe, beginning his studies at the Utrecht Conservatory before completing both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Conservatorium Maastricht under renowned violinist Yuzuko Horigome. His performance background includes collaborations with Het Orkest van Nederland, the Utrecht Chamber Orchestra, the Maastricht Academy Chamber Orchestra, and the Netherlands Youth Orchestra (NJO) during its 2018 Winter Tour.
He has participated in international projects and festivals such as Fukko Concert 2020 (Brussels), Musica Sacra (Maastricht), the Residart Festival (Ancona), Les Nuits Pianistiques (Aix-en-Provence), and the Tchaikovsky aan de Waal Festival. His collaborations include working with notable conductors and artists such as Anthony Hermus, Roeland Hendrikx, Arjan Tien, Mikhail Zemstov, Boris Belkin, and Siow Lee Chin. His competition achievements include awards at the Malaysian Youth Orchestra Foundation Competition, the Singapore Raffles International Music Festival, and the Cheer Tainan International Music Competition.
Alongside his performing career, Daryl is deeply committed to education. He values mindful, thoughtful pedagogy and takes pride in nurturing the next generation of violinists through structured guidance, strong musical understanding, and artistic curiosity.
